Legends of Caspian: The Vindication

Spray flew off the bow of the ship as the clipper sped through the water with the ease of a fish. Master Tage was at the helm, if you could call it that. A strange assortment of rope, knobs, wheels, and other things had met Caspian's eyes when he saw it. Master Tage explained that he could pilot the whole ship from that one spot. Caspian watched as the lake where Master Tage lived came into sight. Then he saw something that made him stand up and look hard at that direction of the hut.
Smoke.
Caspian drew his sword, causing Luke to look up. Seeing the smoke he set two arrows to the string. Lydia drew her long curved knife, and David reached for his huge war hammer. When the clipper nosed up next to the port Master Tage had built, David leaped out and watched as Caspian tied it. Then Lydia, Caspian, David, and Luke advanced cautiously toward the hut. The door was leaning, slightly ajar. The smoke was gone, but the remains of a large bonfire was nearby. Caspian lifted up his foot and smashed the door down, Thundering a war cry, he crashed into the hut as men, dressed in dark green, looked up in surprise! Arrows came his way, and swords flashed from their sheaths, suddenly, Caspian was surrounded by men. Now he recognized them. They were the outlaws of the forest.
"Why looky 'ere cap'n," a leering outlaw said. "It's the prince! I say we kill 'em now!"
"Nah, burn him alive for what his father did to us," another said waving a torch.
"No killing or burning unless I say so!" another man thundered walking out. He was dressed in dark green, a bow was slung over his shoulder, and a sword hung loosely at his waist.
"Yes John," the outlaws wilted away from him.
"Sir John!"
"Yes Sir John!"
"What do you want with us?" David spoke up swinging his trusty war hammer up and down. "Hurt the girl and you lose your life!"
"The girl will not be harmed," Sir John said. "I am a true knight, but I was outlawed by Lord Gelon for thwarting his plans. In fact, none of you will be harmed. I have heard much of prince Caspian, he will be a good fighter for us."
"I will never become an outlaw!" Caspian spoke up.
"Look around you lad. You are an outlaw, but we have bigger problems." John led them to the end of the port and pointed with his hands as a massive shape broke through the mist.
"Behold the Vindication!"
