Legends of Caspian: The Clipper

Caspian floundered in the black swirling water. The bridge was gone, shattered into a thousand drops of a fiery shower, scorching Caspian and lighting his hair on fire. Caspian was suddenly plunged into the water, squelching the flame burning his hair. He tried to swim up, but he was caught in a current! He shot away, underneath the bridges wreckage. He tried to resist his brain shrieking at him like a tea kettle to breath, breath! In a few seconds he would have to breath, be it water or air. He desperately surged towards the surface, but suddenly a black, rounded shape was over him. Caspian gasped, no longer able to hold it in. Water rushed into him and he went limp, unable to move. Before everything went black he heard a splashing noise. The angels coming for me, he thought deliriously and the blackness enveloped him.

There was pain, searing unbearable pain. Something was hitting him on the back. Caspian wretched and vomited up his lunch and a bucketful of water. His eyes opened and he saw rough crude faces looking at him. The only thing he could remember was "angels coming for me". He looked around confused.
Caspian!
It was a voice, frantic and desperate. It was the most beautiful Caspian had ever heard. A woman's face, beautiful and worried, came into his hazed vision. Then a rougher more familiar voice.
He's awake!
And then he was gone, blackness enveloping him.

"It was your fault!"
"My fault!?! Look you little impudent young rip! You were the one manning the helm!"
"Only because you told me to without telling me how to Couldn't you have settled for a normal wheel instead of all these handles and whatchamacallits?"
"Handles! Whatchamacallits!"
Caspian opened his eyes to see Master Tage practically bursting with righteous anger over Luke's description of his steering system.
"Yeah! If you had just used a normal helm like my grandpa's fishing boat I wouldn't have sailed on top of him and Caspian wouldn't be dead!"
"I'm dead?" Caspian asked sitting up.
"Caspian!" Everyone in the room went off at once. Caspian sat up coughing as Lydia squeezed his wrist.
"His pulse is normal again!" she cried with joy. Caspian looked at her. He realized she must have been the woman he had seen and the angel he had kept on thinking was overtop of him while he lay in the bed he was in.
"What happened?" he asked dazed.
"Lydia and me brought the Clipper, a yacht I built, to the bridge to rescue you," Master Tage explained. "Then this impudent rebellious rip here-"
Luke said hastily, "Me and David weren't caught in the current and Master Tage pulled us onto the Clipper. I offered to steer since I had once steered my grandpa's fishing boat. But Tage-"
"MASTER TAGE!" Tage roared.
"-had this fancy steering system. I accidentally maneuvered the boat on top of you."
"David jumped in to pull you out of the water before you died," Tage explained.
"It was nothing," David said. "Lydia was the real hero. She dressed that sword wound you got and did all sorts of stuff to you. She never left your side. She's to thank that your back in the land of the living."
Caspian looked at Lydia and smiled. She smiled back and blushed as the others cheered.

Legends of Caspian: Battle at the Bridge Part 2

Lydia nodded and dived over the edge of the bridge. She sped through the water before clambering back onto the back and dashing away.
"God be with you," Caspian thought. Caspian ducked a sword swipe and ended the black fighter who wielded. it. Crossbow bolts shot over his head and embedded themselves in the planking around him as Caspian ducked. One bolt sliced a hole in his clothing. Caspian flipped over a raging sword swinger to confront a wall of pike man. He flipped back, narrowly missing the spear, killed the spearmen before the pike wall crashed into him. A pike man went down an arrow in his throat. Caspian was tripped by the dead mans pike. Arrows slammed into the pike man, each fired by an anxious, but unswerving Luke. One growling swords man leaped n Caspian, a sword swinging. Caspian rolled and the stroke intended to decapitate him missed. Caspian drew his dagger and lunged at the man, his sword having ben knocked out of his hand. He sank it's blade into the pike man's heart, and there was sound of escaping breath. The fighter fell dead. Caspian pulled his sword from it's cold hands and picked up his own. He charged into the horde like wind mill both swords, cutting slashing, and hacking a path of death into his foes. Luke's arrows were halted by a burly pike man who attack Luke. Luke threw away his bow and drawing his blade met the pike man. Both were evenly matched and the fought across the bridge, trampling the dead and fallen weaponry. David was roaring lustily as his hammer fell, each stroke bringing down a devious henchman. Luke's sword was knocked from his hands, and the pike man buried his pike into Luke's side.
"NO!" Caspian shrieked ending his combatant and dashing toward his friend heedless of the bolts and swinging, gleaming, blades. Luke rose supporting himself on his hand. His eyes glared at the pike man who advanced on him the pike raised above his head, a leering, laughing expression fixed on his face, so sure he was of his kill. Luke suddenly drew an arrow out of his quiver and stabbed it into the pike man's forehead. The man's face showed surprise and his hands gripped at the thing in his head before the went cold and he fell lifeless over the bridge. Caspian was at full speed, and couldn't have been stopped if he wanted to. He tripped headlong over the ridge's railing and fell with a splash into the rive. Luke leaped after him, and David, eyeing reluctantly the rest of the enemies, followed suit. Then there a was a loud fizzing sound of fire on a fuse, a hiss of an arrow, and the sky burst into flames.

Legends of Caspian: Battle at the Bridge Part 1

Caspian sliced a branch in front of him in two as he threaded his way through the thick undergrowth. Behind him was Lydia, David, and Luke taking up the rear with an arrow on the string. Suddenly there was a snapping sound a muffled curse from behind them. Lydia's eyes widened and she drew a long knife from her side.
"There still on us," David whispered. His huge battle hammer was strapped over his back, and he looked ready to use it.
"Were almost to the bridge," Caspian whispered back. "Once were there we can use the firepowder to blow it up."
"Umm... the firepowder in my sack?" Luke said his eyes wide.
"Yeah," Caspian started, "Don't tell me..."
"I left it at Forgotten Tower," Luke finished.
"I told you not to tell me," Caspian hissed. His stride quickened and he viciously slashed at the walls of plants in front of him. Suddenly there was a tawng, followed by another twang, and an arrow suddenly sped past him. Caspian whipped around and tore his sword from his side. Luke appeared next to him.
"Got him," he whispered with a grin. He patted his longbow. Caspian ripped through the undergrowth and suddenly burst into the sunlight blinking. In front of him was a large wooden bridge. The four warriors quickly crossed to it nd then turned to make their stand. Blackfighters poured out of the forest and shot arrow after arrow at them. Caspian snapped the ones coming toward him with his sword, while Luke's red and green fletched arrows whizzed forward and everyone of them planted themselves squarely in the chest of an enemy archer. Then the Blackfighters swept towards them! A row of pikes stamped forward with a deathly tramp, tramp, tramp! Luke shot arrows into it. Several fell, but not enough. Then the pikes were upon them. Caspian deftly dodged a pike thrust and stabbed his adversary through the heart. Lydia was beside him, with her long bladed knife dealing out death as it slashed it's way through the wall of pikes. Caspian knew they needed the firepowder, but the only person close to him was Lydia. He couldn't send her unprotected! Yet he had no choice.
"Lydia!" he yelled, "Do you know were Master Tage lives?" Caspian cut a murderous pike in half.
"Yes," Lydia called back as she whipped her knife horizontally, wounding a pike man's throat. She spun and ended a swordsman, who had snuck up behind her.
"Dog," Caspian thought. Sneaking up on the back of a woman! Suddenly Lydia planter her foot solidly next to him and slashed out at the pike man's unprotected middles. "What do you need?" she yelled.
"Firepowder!" Caspian shouted leaping forward and running a black fighter through. He spun and hit another black fighters breastplate. Sparks leapt off it and the black fighter plummeted over the side of the bridge.
